Dessert with some protein, NO ONE.
Let us pause for a moment and note that this is the first non-vegan recipe posted on this site. We at the Bitter Vegan are vegan primarily for ethical reasons, due to our lifelong inability to eat animal-based foods without imagining the horrible suffering of the animals on which those foods are based. BUT. In a small number of instances where no suffering has occurred, we will eat animal-based foods. Eggs are one of those exceptions. We are just fine eating eggs if they come from hens who live in very happy conditions, like on our friend Ruthann's farm. Those hens are just stoked to eat, walk freely under apple trees, and lay eggs. Or, if the eggs come from the Bay Area equivalent of a chicken foster home, and by selling the eggs they continue to provide a good home for the chickens, we're all for it. We will eat those eggs.
Let us also reflect on how cocoa powder artfully sprinkled on chocolate deviled eggs, as an analog to paprika sprinkled on, say, normal deviled eggs, somehow falls short. We don't really need to give it a minute. We give it no minutes and no seconds. We give it only scorn.
